Engine Issue for riding lawnmower OHV175-204801B

I have a MTD yard machine that uses the tecumseh ohv175 engine. Mower was working great until it started to die under a load. I was told by mechanic to change carberator. Changed carb along with fuel lines, filter,spark plug,oil and fuel. I added stabil to the fuel. The mower worked great the first time it was used since the repair. Two weeks later as I was mowing the mower started acting up again. Same problem - under load it dies out. Two weeks later the problem is worse - now it starts but as soon as you engage the deck or put in drive the unit dies out. Any help with this would be greatly appreciated....
